Your Thermal Neutral Zone
Even at rest, your body constantly produces heat due to natural metabolic processes. If it didn't, your body would eventually overheat and run into lots of problems.
However, your body can't get too cold either. If your body senses that it's naturally losing too much heat, it'll work harder to produce more.
Your "Thermal Neutral Zone" refers to a state where the exterior temperatures in your immediate environment are "perfect". Your body doesn't need to produce any extra heat or sweat to help regulate its temperature.
Staying thermal neutral as often as you can for as long as you can provides numerous health benefits.
Your Body of Water
At least half of your body weight is water, which is used in all of your body's natural functions. Water stores and transfers heat very efficiently, which is why your body sweats when you get too hot.
But sweat isn't the only way moisture leaves your body. In fact, all heat leaving your body carries some moisture with it.
Even while at rest, being in an enclosed environment will cause moisture to build up over time. This moisture buildup affects the thermal dynamics of your environment, potentially kicking you out of your Thermal Neutral Zone.
If you can control the moisture of your environment, you can stay thermal neutral longer.
